Rena Garcia Reeder is from Corpus Christi, Texas. She trained at Munro Ballet Studios in Corpus Christ and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) in Carlisle, Pennsylvania before attending and graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. 

After graduating from the University of Texas with a B.S. degree from the College of Communication, Department of Advertising, Ms. Reeder pursued a Pilates Certification through the Core Connections® Pilates Teacher Training Program, and returned to Carlisle to begin a dance pedagogy apprenticeship with Marcia Dale Weary at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. During her apprenticeship at CPYB, Ms. Reeder observed the teaching styles of various faculty members including Leslie Hench, another influential teacher, and she also gained experience as a teacher’s assistant and rehearsal assistant and taught ballet and Pilates to various levels at the school. Additionally, Ms. Reeder taught ballet to college students and athletes as part of a partnership between CPYB and Dickinson College in Carlisle.

Ms. Reeder is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and certified to teach Pre-Ballet in the Vaganova Method through the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Teacher Training Program. She is also an active member of the Cecchetti Council of America and has teaching certifications in Pre-Vocational Grades 1-3. She continues to work with a coach to learn more about the Cecchetti Method of teaching.

Most recently, Ms. Reeder trained with Lynne Charles (English National Ballet School) and earned her 4Pointe Levels 1, 2 & 3 teacher’s certification.
