The Primary Program places strong emphasis on developing basic ballet technique. Students gain strength, develop stamina and learn to work as a team as they master ballet technique.
As standard procedure, students of all ages learn the basic ballet positions, the progression of a standard ballet barre and French vocabulary that defines all of the steps in classical ballet.
Advancement is based on ability, not age, which allows students to develop the layers of knowledge that form the foundation of ballet technique. Most students begin in Level 1A. Students with prior ballet training will be asked to take a placement class so faculty can determine the appropriate level for placement.
