CAITLIN ELLEDGE-DUMANCAS

Caitlin Elledge grew up in Hattiesburg, MS and trained  Henry Danton (Royal Ballet, Sadlers Wells), Yvonne Bergeron (New Orleans Ballet), Arkadiy Orohovsky (Kiev State Choreographic School, National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Ballet El Paso, Houston Ballet), and Katya Orohovsky (Kirov Academy, Nutmeg Conservatory).

During their time in Mississippi, Caitlin performed roles such as “Clara” from The Nutcracker, “Swanilda” from Coppelia, “Pas de Trois” from Swan Lake, “Aurora” from Sleeping Beauty and “Sugarplum Fairy” from The Nutcracker. Caitlin also performed soloist and corps de ballet roles in other ballets, such as Dracula, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, and Sleeping Beauty.

In 2015, Caitlin moved to Nashville, TN to join the Professional Training Division at Nashville Ballet, and performed soloist and principal roles in the School of Nashville Ballet’s Showcase Performances such as “Peasant Pas” from Giselle, “Pas de Trois” from La Bayadere, “Spring” from The Four Seasons, and was featured in contemporary works by Shibaz Ujima and Chris Stuart.

After 2 years in the Professional Training Division, Caitlin earned a competitive spot in the Second Company, and received two full scholarships to the Nashville Ballet Summer Intensive in 2016 and 2017.

During their time with Nashville Ballet, Caitlin had the opportunity to learn and train with renowned choreographers and instructors such as Chris Stuart (Charlotte Ballet, Alabama Ballet), Paul Vasterling (Nashville Ballet), Victoria Simon (Balanchine Trust), Maniya Barredo, Denise Eason, Guenchen Fu, and Nick Mullikin (Nashville Ballet).

In 2019, Caitlin joined Blue Moves Modern Dance, and choreographed for VUPointe Ballet Company at Vanderbilt University. They also founded and directed their own 501(c)(3) nonprofit company, X-Contemporary Dance, which had 3 successful seasons before Caitlin decided to make a big move to Austin, TX where they currently dance with Ventana Ballet and have choreographed several works for local events, including the 5×7 Dance Fest and the Barefoot Ball at First Street Studio.

Caitlin’s teaching experience includes guest teaching at the award-winning school The Ballet Institute of San Diego, The Dance Academy and Ballet Academy North, Millennium Dance Complex, Columbia Dance Center, DancEast, Soles Dance Center, and Alabama Youth Ballet. Caitlin has trained dancers that have gone on to win High Platinum, 1st Place, and scholarships at competitions such as NRG Dance Project, The Streetz, and Dance Makers. Their students have also been awarded scholarships to the College of Charleston Dance Program, Alabama Ballet, Ballet Magnificat, The Rock, The Bolshoi Ballet Summer Intensive in New York, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.
